Blogging in China is seriously restricted now. Anonymous blogging is no-longer possible

It used to be the case that if you wanted something off your chest that you would blog about it. It coukd be anonymous and you could have certain rights protected.
Microblogging is well used the world over from Azerbijan to Zimbabwe to get the message out and it matters very little what the platform is so long as it enables unfettered access to readers and the bloggers.

China has its own popular blogging platform called Weibo where authors can post, much like blogger or any of the other platforms around such as WordPress. But now users must either post under their real name or be registered with an agency which knows whose handle relates to whom. This is now called real name blogging or Shimingzhi.
