Facebook owned Instagram – the popular social network for photosharing and filtering images has just gone video. The site acquired by Facebook has been working on a new set of features to allow users to record 15 seconds of video. The innovation compared to Vine is that this is much longer than the Vine with the existing 6 seconds. This should open up far more possibilities for users to be creative rather than limit their reels to just six seconds.
The Instagram team have worked hard to make the user experience compelling in almost everyway ensuring that its a breeze to create or edit your reels. For example there is simple push/pause recording. Crucially when it comes down to viewing, unlike Vine there is no automatic looping for three times – which has been known to irritate some users.
